Weed Control

Late winter and early spring conditions have affected our pre-emerge programs. The weed pressure around the course has been higher than normal due to excessive rainfall and delayed pre-emerge applications due to frequent and heavy rain events. Post
herbicide applications have been scheduled to control poa and annual broadleaf weeds. All bermuda has been fertilized this past week which will encourage the growth of the bermuda.

Greenside Bunker #9 Huguenot

Fill installation is almost complete. Once enough fill has been installed, the entire area will be graded, compacted and prepared for sod installation.

Morning Set Up

Greens are currently being mowed 6 days a week. We have been utilizing triplex mowing units to increase efficiency with the lack of additional staff. It has definitely been a challenging year in our industry trying to find qualified labor.  Seasonal staffing will begin in the middle of May.

Pin locations are moved six days a week using a quadrant system. Pin locations become more challenging as greens speeds increase. We are currently training new staff appropriate pin locations.

Driving range hitting stations are moved every day the range is open. Please use the provided sand bottles to fill divots after hitting range balls.

Bunker Work

Pollen from the trees has been a challenge this spring, trying to keep the bunkers clean.

Bunkers are mechanically raked two times per week and bunkers depth are checked every other week. All of the greenside bunkers have had an angular sand added to amend bunkers to impove depths and firmness. we are currently working on selective fairway bunkers to improve depths and firmness. As warm temperatures become more frequent we will irrigate bunkers in the absence of rainfall to maintain firmess.
